Anton French began his career at Tilney Bestinvest in 2003. He has helped run the firm’s fund of funds since launch in 2008, and has risen to the level of director and senior portfolio manager at the recently-rebranded Evelyn Partners. French additionally sits on the company’s asset allocation committee and describes himself as a generalist.

‘An understanding of all asset classes is needed,’ he adds.

He names the Graham Macro Ucits fund as the buy list’s best performer in the last 12 months, also describing it as a hidden gem. Baillie Gifford Responsible Global Equity Income fund was his most recent addition.

If French could change one thing in the industry, he would like to see more transparency and better communication.
