Craig Allen, Julius Baer’s head of investment management in Guernsey has been a perennial feature of Wealth Manager’s Top 100. He has retained a place since 2016, having previously led the UK and Guernsey multi-asset team at Credit Suisse.
He graduated from the University of Exeter in 1996 with a first-class degree in mathematics and French, before spending two years teaching at the University of Versailles in Paris.
While he was already well on his way to a career in finance, he speaks fondly of his time as a teacher. Allen says his buy list has not seen many significant changes over the last year, having entered the period with a significant underweight in long-duration assets.
He says his best performer has been the Man GLG Emerging Markets Debt Absolute Return fund.
