Brompton Asset Management's chief investment officer, Gill Lakin, has been with the firm since 2010. She was previously CIO at Thornhill Investment Management. She manages the Brompton Global Balanced fund, which runs £23m, among other multi-asset strategies at the firm.

Among the UK equity funds she backs are the Man GLG Income, Liontrust Special Situations and Artemis UK Special Situations strategies. For diversification, she also holds the 3i Infrastructure fund and Legal & General Global Inflation Linked bond strategies.

In a 30-year career, Lakin has also worked at Société Générale, where she was senior fund manager and head of UK equity research, and Prudential Portfolio Managers, where she ran two retail funds.

She is a graduate of Somerville College, Oxford, and also holds an MSc from the London Business School.
