As manager of GAM’s managed funds solutions service, James McDaid oversees approximately £1.1bn in client assets.

The fund-of-funds range comprises five risk-targeted strategies across global equity, fixed income, absolute return and alternatives.  McDaid began his career at TD Waterhouse Investor Services in 2000, moving to what is now Quilter Investors a year later and joining GAM in 2012.

He sees emerging market equities as a top investment theme over the next five years, and has added Aubrey Emerging Market equities to his buy list in the last year, which he describes as his hidden gem.

If McDaid could change one thing about the wealth management industry, he would like to increase its accessibility to underrepresented areas of the population.
