Melissa Scaramellini has spent 16 years at Quilter Cheviot, climbing the ranks to become a senior fund analyst and lead on ESG funds. She joined following five years at Schroders, where she began her career and where she rose to become an investment manager.

She says the opportunity to focus on ethical and sustainable investment has been the most rewarding part of her job to date, but says ideally her specialisation would be redundant.

‘I would like to see much improved diversity and inclusion and a shift towards a more embedded understanding of the importance of considering environmental and social issues within investment decision making and active stewardship,’ Scaramellini explained.

Over the last year she says her top performing fund was Trium ESG Emissions Impact, while her most recent buy decision was UBAM Positive Impact Emerging Equity.
