Formerly head of fund selection at Lyxor, Nicolas Moussavi became head of external investment solutions at Société Générale following the sale of the division to Amundi.

He previously served the French ETF specialist as a senior fund analyst and portfolio manager, after graduating with a masters in finance in 2009.

Over the last year he says the biggest change to his buylist has been its concentration, and says Brandes US Value fund is both his most recent addition and top choice of hidden gem.

His advice to younger investors is to resist the allure of miracle returns, as diversification remains key. ‘There’s no such thing as a free lunch,’ he said.
