Ross Brookes joined Charles Stanley in 2008, working his way up from collectives’ analyst to head of collectives' research in 2016. He has 22 years industry experience, starting his career at Origen Financial Services where he worked as a research analyst for nine years.

Over the last 12 months, Brookes has added core Japanese and Indian equity funds to his buy list. He suggests the industry is too focused on short-term performance and that if investors want active management they should not panic when a non-benchmark approach does not perform in the short term.

He sees humility in investment management as a key take away from his time in the profession as he believes that getting things wrong is inevitable.
