Samantha Dovey is responsible for the fund research and investment process at Ravenscroft. She manages the firm’s growth portfolios and the Ravenscroft Global Growth fund. Before joining the firm eight years ago, she was head of research at International Asset Monitor.

She compares the fund selection process to the dating game. The due diligence represents the dating phase, and if they want to get engaged, they will test out the waters with a 2.5% holding in a portfolio. If that goes well, they’ll commit and make the fund a fully-fledged member of the portfolio. Thankfully, she says, divorces are rare.
