Samina Chaudhary joined Barclays in 2016 from Cavendish Ware. She is responsible for property and global and US equity funds, with a focus on thematic and sustainable strategies. Regardless of strategy, she discusses sustainability with all of her managers to see how they are engaging with their companies.

Her advice to younger professional investors is to ‘make yourself known!’ Up-and-comers should not be afraid to reach out to others within their company or on the outside. ‘Having a positive attitude also goes a long way, people generally are very happy to share knowledge with their younger peers.’

Though she is pleased with the growth of the number of women in the industry, she feels there is ‘some way to go to see more senior female fund managers and representation on the research side’.
