Simon Nicholas joined Brown Shipley in 2010, following five years at Mercator Capital Management where he was an investment director.

At Brown Shipley he works as a senior fund manager leading the firm’s range of five multi-asset funds. Nicholas began his career in portfolio management at Cazenove where he worked for 13 years.

Over the last 12 months his buy list has evolved to incorporate more sustainable investments. He is compelled by the continued evolution of sustainability but wants the industry to provide investors with a more coherent guide to navigate the inevitable trade-offs and contradictions that may arise.

If not a fund manager, Nicholas would have pursued his passion for Formula 1, travelling around the world as a team strategist for the sport.
