A founder member of Vermeer Partners and head of fund research at the company, William Buckhurst manages portfolios for a wide range of private clients, family trusts, charities and pension funds.

For almost 20 years his career has mirrored that of company founder and until recently executive chair of the business Michael Kerr-Dineen, first working together at UBS and then Quilter Cheviot, before the 2018 launch of Vermeer.

Buckhurst describes his allocation to shipping investment company Taylor Marine as his best portfolio decision this year, while a failure to sell Scottish Mortgage was his worst.

He chairs the investment funds, fixed income and alternatives committees alongside the investment and executive committees.
