Ziad Abou Gergi joined Hargreaves Lansdown in December 2021, following 17 years with Barclays Wealth Management, latterly as head of multi-asset portfolios. As a senior fund manager, he is responsible for multi-asset as well as US equities, overseeing £3bn in assets.
Until 2011, Gergi was based in Paris, before making the move to London with a promotion to senior portfolio manager at Barclays, where he went on to manage an 11-strong range of multi-asset funds, and sit on the firm’s asset allocation committee.
His best investment call over the last 12 months was reducing exposure to small caps, as well an underweight in US equities.
